"Death Comes to Town

It was recently announced on Telefilm Canada that there will be a new Kids in the Hall television series titled Death Comes to Town. The Kids' Kevin McDonald recently described it as "like a comedy Roots" and stated that it would be an eight-part miniseries airing first on CBC in Canada and then on US television. The series began shooting in August 2009 in North Bay, Mattawa and Sturgeon Falls, Ontario. Several characters from the original Kids in the Hall series are expected to make an appearance. The new miniseries is expected to air in Canada on CBC in January 2010."

Turns out, yes it can happen, but well out of my price range.

My last post was my excitement for finding the company that made that suit from the Mighty Boosh, (that I talked about 2 posts ago) and finding out that they do private commissions. So I sent them a e-mail asking if they can make a duplicate for me.

I got a reply this morning, they are willing my make me the suit but it would cost me £2000. While it would be amazing to have an identical suit, made by the same people that made it for the show. There is no way I could justify spending that much.

The main cost is the fact that the entire pattern on the suit is embroidered on. I replied asking if there was a way she could do the pattern cheaper without embroidering it.

So, to be cryptic and to satisfy my needs to let out my excitement. OH PLEASE! This would be so frakkin awesome! (I've been re-watching Battlestar Gallactica)

Noone will care about this besides me.

PLEASE Whoever might be listening and somehow has some assemblage of control over events of the not so distant future. LET THIS HAPPEN! I just hope it won't cost too terribly much.

Finally a bit of progress in my Mighty Boosh Cosplay. Well, at least a plan.

Been trying to figure out this jacket

The zipper is to the side when closed, but when open has even lapels on each side. Got this answer from someone on Cosplay.com

"From what I can tell from the pictures, you should be able to use a regular jacket pattern. Insert one half of a separable zipper between the left front piece and the facing. On the right front piece, add a seam (remember to add a seam allowance when you cut the pattern pieces) and insert the other half of the separable zipper.

You may have to order a custom zipper to get one the right length but there are several places that can do it fairly cheap. Just google "custom zipper". Good luck!"

Suprised I didn't think of that, but its perfect. Now I just need to find the perfect white suit jacket, or barring that, make one.

Gonzo Imperial Porters is back in stores! It was a limited edition run to raise money for Hunter S. Thompson's memorial. But now its back as a regular item. It is the best beer I have ever had. You really should try to find some.

Damn Right Kings Quest!

I just found a site that has remakes if Kings Quest 1 and 2 for free! As well as a remake for Quest for Glory II, a series I haven't tried, but hear amazing things about.

For those who do not know, Kings Quest are PC adventure games, I think theres 8 total now. I've only ever played 2-5, I could never find a copy of 1. But finally got to play it last night. Its pretty hard, the quests seem a bit less cohesive than they do in later installments. I had to look up one thing. Just a hint in case you play it- the note in the witches house is the key to the gnomes name.

Going to give the Kings Quest 2 remake a try later this week when I have some time. These games are so much fun.

Im running off about 3-4 hours of sleep in the last 2 days, but I think Im coherant enough to say this has been a pretty damn good couple weeks.

Alex got a Wii, and borowed me a metric ton of Fables.

Boy Matt's WoD game is amazing! My very favorite mage Ive ever made is in that game, and he has a great present from the Abyss. :)

Aleph started a Karoake thing every Wednesday, and it's always awsome to see Aleph perform in the ancient art of karaoke.

Wolfie I am finally getting to know a lot better, now that I dont work, so I can actually hang out and days hes over.

Zac got some money and seems like his job hunt has picked up some steam.

The sad news is tomorrow morning is the last time I will see Ben in a few weeks, then he will be back for a couple weeks before leaving for two years. This last month has been a lot of fun though. lets make the two weeks that your here after Idaho even better.

Im getting a PS3, Nov 17!

October 10th 8:00am I wake up, get dressed and drop Shen off at school.
8:40 or so I head over to gamestop and arrive at about 8:50.

For those who do not know, I was there for a PS3 preorder.

There was 8 people already in line when I got there, a mix of a few people my age, with overweight middle aged balding men. Im sure the #1 guy had been there all night, he had entrenched himself in a folding cloth chair, playing a psp with a stack of gameing magazines at his side. Most there had psp's.

From what I had heard they were getting only about 5-6 consoles, I was quite annoyed that the line had 8 people already. I almost left, but decided to stay for a little while, thinking that if there werent enough, someone would tell me. The manager was already busy opening the store, so I assumed somone in line knew how many to expect.

About after half an hour Suncoast (who we were lined up in front of) started playing "The Little Mermaid" rather loudly. This sparked a conversation among the line, that I joined in.
Eventually we go to the topic of console numbers, game stop was getting 15!

XD!

I'll make the rest short, since its not very interesting. Got my preorder 9/15 all filled immediately after opening.

I'm number 8 now though since one has been cancelled. Apperantly one person preordered one at Gamestop and one at EB with the intention of selling one on ebay. Both his preoders were cancelled.

Were not going to have a phone for another week. Next tuesday they will come between the hours of 10 and when ever the hell they feel like it.

But all is not lost, I turned on my computer this morning and an icon popped up, asking if I would like to connect to the wireless network. I clicked on it, and there are five wireless routers in range of my wireless receiver! Oh what to choose! Snow? HomeSweetHome? one just labeled computer?

None of them give me a great connection, but at least it gives us something until next week when they come and officially turn on our phone and internet.

Get a hold of us through here, we will check it often.

I have some great friends, did you know that?

Alex- Ive known for a while now, and we've become very good friends. I worry about him sometimes. He's a very thoughtful person, who It seems has his doubts about pretty much everything. Alex, I just want to let you know, again, as Im sure Ive told you before, Im here if you need someone to talk to, I might not have great advice to give, but It can be good just to have someone listen. I miss you alot Alex, and I greatly hope we can see eachother more often soon.

Moni- you've helped me and shen out so much lately, and I haven't been very kind in return. I'm sorry for that, I realize im a selfish person at times, and Im working on correcting that. I want you to know that you're a very close friend of mine, and I hope you think of me as the same, and not just as Shen's boyfriend.

Boy Matt- I know we dont see eye to eye on alot of things, and I guess we shouldn't since you're the masculine to my feminine, and wouldnt be that way if we were the same, but I enjoy your company greatly, and your stories are .... hmm... depends on the story really. I cant really generalize them, some make me laugh some make me cringe.

Zach- You often share a common view point with Boy Matt, and as I said me and Boy Matt have our differances, if there were two Zachs you most likely be Boy Zach. I havent gotten much chance to get to know you yet, but I enjoy roleplaying with you, and am very glad we invited you.

Aleph- You are made of truck and love, you make me want to be a better person. You are one of the greatest guys I know, if not the greatest. You are unconditionaly patient and kind, and you have an open invitation to stay here after game night anytime. (or anynight) If you just dont feel like driving home for anyreason. I can't wait for you to return! We miss you, and I greatly appreciate you getting me into American Comics.
P.S. Just read Invincible #25. Keepes getting better with each chapter!

Ben- Not sure if you even do Livejournal, but you've quickly joined our circle and have been very well recieved. We are so similar and I hope we can be very good friends, though I am a bit reserved knowing we don't have much time with you, and I remember how much it hurts getting close to someone knowing they will leave.

Shen- You are amazing in the way that is you. Im sorry I dont take much interest in your comic, and I really should. You support me in all my creative endeavors, and I really dont pay you back. I don't deserve you.
I want you to know how much I love you, and I will try to be better for you. To the point where I am deserving of you, though I don't think I could ever reach that goal. I love you.

Im sorry if I missed anyone that reads my journal. But I tried to include everyone that I go out hang out with on a regular basis.

It was a wonderful day!

I woke up with Shen giving me a back rub, before I drove her to School at Evergreen.
After that I spent my morning and a good deal of my evening downtown, primaraly reading comics at danger room. Invincible f*cking rox! Those of you who dont know soon will. Im buying it soon.

Then I went home, bought some subway and watched supernatural. Picked up Shen at 3:00, spent some quality time with her bfore going to work at 5:, where I made 70 dollars in tips doing an easy job. Then they filled a bag full of chicken and pork and rice, and they asked me "what kind of sauce would you like on that food?" and I said "Sweet and sour!" And so they filled it with sweet and sour sauce, as per my request! Then I had some incredibly tasty logan berry martini at the bar (or two), (Which is a big reason on why im ranting now) and left the restaurant and picked up some Chicken sandwiches and soda for Shen just to see her beutiful face smile for me.

God pointed at me today and said in a loud booming voice, "your going to have a great day!"

And it was good!

(I cant spell, and my grammer suck. I didnt even try on this one.)

The loan I was depending on to go back to school and to pay a few debts fell through, I'll have to wait another few months to get back to school. I always seem to be waiting. Now I need a job in a hurry, since I was spending cash with the concept that more would be coming soon.

On top of that, I found out auditions for noises off were alot sooner than I expected. I should have been preparing for the past 2 weeks, after not having acted for 5 years. So I didn't go.

My energy for accomplishment pretty much tanked after that. Spent the rest of the night playing that stupid Hulk game.

Thats all I want to rant about for now. Just a very dissapointing day.

I have to say first that Im a true fan of horror and disturbing movies. And not to long ago I was introduced to a very disturbing director by the name of Takahish Miike with his most famous film Ichi the Killer. I was amazed that with all of the aweful things I have seen in movies through out the years, I was not desencitized enough to watch this without averting my eyes on occasion. I loved it! Enough that I forced it upon many of my friends, (Washington friends if you havent seen it yet, wait until I ger back, I own it Ill force it upon you!)

And then I rented Audition, but while extremely slow moving still had some pretty freaky shit in it.

SO after Ichi and Audition, I was pretty sure I was used to Miike's work and could handle anything he could throw my way.

I WAS WRONG!

Never have I seen anything as disturbed and twisted as Visitor Q!
Where the other films were agonizing to watch in a torture film kind of way this is Miike, going to the same extreme he did in the horror genre but making it sexual!

It was an amazing film, but I dont think I know if I can subject this movie to any of my friends since I know alot of you arent into this sort of thing as much as I am. and my not be prepared for it.

Sorry Eileen! I didnt know what I was getting you into! (She watched it with me, when I saw it for the first time)

Thats all I have to say for now, Im still recovering from this movie. (Its a great feeling! This feeling is why i love these movies so much, and Im glad that theres a director out there that can give me this much of a shock to my system.)

Hmm... last post was May, now its July. June doesnt exist, IT JUST DOESNT!

Anyway, Im at work, and luckily the boss left his user name logged in. So I get to play on the net and get paid for it.

Does anyone know the band "of montreal" I figure my Washington friends have a better chance of hearing since the indie scene is much more prvailant there than it is here. Kind of an 80's sound to them, but I like them alot.

I dont have much to say.

I finally started another AMV, too bad its yet another drama vid, but its what im best at. This one is an action drama at least.

A friend of mine leant me Wolfs Rain, which we just finished last night. Wow, that a great anime! I wont say anymore than that in fear of spoilers.
